Conceptual framework of the Checnet project published
Checnet collaborators recently published an article titled “Models of Coupled Settlement and Habitat Networks for Biodiversity Conservation
The Checnet's group have a new publication external page "Conceptual Framework, Implementation and Potential Applications” in Frontiers in Ecology and Evolution. Networks of settlements connected by roads and traffic (i.e. settlement networks) interact in many ways with networks of animal habitat patches between which animals can move (i.e. habitat patches). Due to these interactions in this complex social-ecological system, it is a challenge to plan effective conservation measures. In the publication, we promote the development of models of coupled settlement and habitat networks to increase our understanding of these interactions. In Checnet, we aim to build such a model based on the conceptual framework presented in the article.
