Cross country ski course & pub quiz winners at PLUS
PLUS members followed a crash course on cross country ski in Einsiedeln taught by Reto Spielhofer
Recently PLUS members followed a crash course on cross country skiing in Einsiedeln taught by PLUS-colleague Reto Spielhofer.
Apart of having a great talent for point cloud classification for energy landscape visualizations, Reto is passionate cross-country skiing instructor. He patiently taught everybody the techniques for cross-country skiing.
Despite some close encounters with the icy ground at the beginning, by the end of the day everyone was able to ski up and downhill on the thin and slippery skis, with more or less elegance. The days ended with some competitive relays on one or two skis between the PLUS members. Thanks Reto for instructing! We had a great time.
PLUS & friends team won the Pub quiz at the Alumni Lounge
The Alumni Lounge from the ETH Hönggerberg organizes a Pub quiz every first Thursday of the month. Motivated by PLUS-colleague Damian Ortiz-Rodríguez, PLUS members regularly attend this quiz with lot of enthusiasm. The quiz is composed of different topics: topic of the day, music, history, identification of famous characters, etc.
After many attempts in which we hadn’t been able to surpass 2nd and 3rd place, last Thursday the PLUS-team finally obtained the 1st place. The team tackled questions like ‘what celestial body in the solar system is of most similar size to the Earth?’ and ‘which country of the former Yugoslavia declared independence in 1992?’, and managed to name famous doctors from pictures and identify songs from fragments.
