Dissertation Madeleine Manyoky
Madeleine Manyoky successfully finished her PhD dissertation on „Visual-Acoustic Simulation for Landscape Impact Assessment of Wind Parks“.
She proposed a development of visual-acoustic simulations, which integrates synthesized and audible wind turbine noise into GIS-based 3D landscape visualizations of alternative wind park scenarios for valuing their impact on the landscape. The developed visual-acoustic simulations were then validated and applied in an acceptability study with public participants. Overall, the simulations offer a more comprehensive decision basis, which allows for an improved impact assessment for designating suitable locations for wind parks.
