Originally from the UK, Isabel Nicholson Thomas joins PLUS to work on indicators of ecosystem condition as part of the SELINA project. Isabel has a particular interest in optimising the use of geospatial and remote sensing data for environmental monitoring, and focused her master’s thesis on the classification of Land Cover maps and the dynamics of Land Cover change in Switzerland.
Isabel has previously worked as a geospatial analyst at the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, where she contributed to research on spatial modelling of the sources and impacts of agricultural air pollution. She holds an MSc in Environmental Sciences from the University of Geneva, and a BSc in Geography from University College London (UCL).

Giulia Casciano will study and evaluate the structure and the function of urban ecological networks focused on urban green areas, within the GreenCityNet project.
She studied Environmental Sciences and Environmental Monitoring and Requalification in Rome.
 

Nathalie Fanzy works as Phd Student in Urban Sociology focusing on inclusive mobility issues. She is participating in the external page DiffUrb Sinergia Project and she is also part of the Lasur Lab (Prof. V. Kaufmann, EPFL).
Nathalie has previously worked at Fondation Jean Monnet in Lausanne, focusing on sustainable mobility issues. She is also a mother of twins.
 

Božana Vrhovac is a new doctoral candidate at ETHZ/WSL. Her main topic is integrated spatial planning and the development of scenarios and visions. In her thesis she deals with fostering and implementing the energy transition through integrated landscape planning and participatory visioning.
She previously worked at Fraunhofer IAO and the Senate Department for Urban Development and Housing in Berlin.
