PLUS writing week in Champéry

From July 18th to 23rd PLUS was together in Valais, sharing a chalet to focus on writing while discovering the valley.

Before the start of the week, Adrienne organized the ascent of Alphubel (4206m) including a few motivated PLUSers and dear colleagues. A challenging adventure in an outstanding glacier dominated landscape impacted by the recent heatwaves and climate change.

Our chalet “joli-nid”, a creaking wooden chalet welcomed our common lunch on the terrace cooked by a different team every day.

The writing week is all “body and soul” and PLUSers took advantage of the surrounding to hike, swim, climb and play to relax during or after all the intensive writing. On Wednesday morning we hiked over Champéry, from Croix de Culet to Grand Paradis. We use the occasion to meet and discuss ecological compensation schemes with Pascal Bergero, the director of “Les portes du soleil”, the local ski resort company.

A great experience with good memories. Probably next year in Austria for the next writing week!
